DeAngelo penned a one-year contract with the Islanders on Tuesday.
Scouting Report
His terrific offensive skills are negated somewhat by defensive deficiencies and a lack of size. He has also been slowed by a lack of maturity on and off the ice. But all the tools are there: he is a smooth skater who moves the puck quickly and has a good shot. He can quarterback a power play. Has a chance to be an elite offensive defenseman if he improves in his own zone and matures as he moves through his prime.
Long Range Potential: Talented offensive defenseman with flaws in his game.
